FAMILY REUNION

Hi Everyone,

Sorry we've been silent for the past couple of weeks but we had lots going on.

First we had to get the house ready for our guest from Texas.  It's not as easy to clean a house when you've got a 19 month old on your heels trying to help but we managed to get it done and even had a chance to do some cooking and baking.

Once the gang arrived we had a great time.  Lily met her cousins Alexandra and Connor and she loved them both but was gaga over Connor.  All week long she would swoon when she saw him and would randomly go over and hug him.  It was really cute and Connor was a good sport about the whole thing which I am sure he found annoying by the end of the week.

We spent the Wednesday at Woodbine Centre in the Fantasy Fair and Lily took her first Merry Go Round ride.  She wasn't too sure what to make of the whole thing but was very brave riding the little rides.  The others had a ball.

We left Thursday for Buckingham which is just outside of Ottawa.  Once there we had lots more family to meet and Grandpapa (or PaPaPa as Lily says) was there too.  She did really well considering all of the people around and the weather which wasn't the greatest but we made the most of it.  Maman was also happy to see everyone and show off her little Princess.
We played (and fell) in puddles, spent lots of time on swings, in the forest and played hide and seek with all the cousins.  We also went to the Fink's Horse Ranch and got to feed the horses.

Needless to say, she had no trouble sleeping at night and we are extremely thankful to Tante Danielle and Oncle Norman for graciously giving up their bedroom so we could have a bit of quiet and privacy.  Un gros Merci !!  Lily also discovered black flies and mosquito bite and those weren't such fun.

We came back on Sunday and after a very difficult ride, where Lily decided to relive her tantrum from the flight in China and we had a minor rear ender on the 401 (with everyone being okay and some small damage to the rental car) we finally got home.

We spent Monday in Niagara Falls.  The Texan's did the "Maid of the Mist" boat ride but Lily and I stayed back and played in the park.  We unfortunately had to say goodbye to them yesterday and they all returned home safely.  The house seems so empty and quiet now and I don't think Lily knows what's going on.

We did however, have a surprise visit from MonOncle Robert who came to town for a last minute meeting and stopped by for dinner and a visit.  That was great especially since it is his birthday today so we got to celebrate it in person.  Bonne Fete MonOncle.  We love you.

Now we're getting ready for our first "Canada Day" celebration and are very excited.  Enjoy the long weekend everyone.

Where did the sun go??

Well, just when the sun showed up it disappeared again.  With the cooler weather, we haven't had much of a chance to use our pool this week but still kept pretty busy.

The weeks are blending in and Maman is losing track of days.  How did it become Monday again and it's already mid June so that means only 2 1/2 months until I have to go back to work.  Yikes!!

I've had several people ask me to post pictures of Lily's room so here they are and a few of my little angel, who this week has learned the word "Mine!" and uses it often.  Now all I have to teach her is to use it without attitude.  Where do they learn these things?

Have a great week and a special Happy Birthday to Nai Nai!

                                                           Getting ready for bed.
The other side of the room.
Going to visit the Martini Family!
Off to Church we go!

FINALLY!!! Sunny Weather

Well, the nice weather finally found us so we took advantage of it this week.  We went on our first picnic with Iris and her mom and there was a petting zoo and a splash pad at the park so we had a ball.

Aunt Donna bought Lily a pool so we have been using it almost every day.  With the sun we've been spending most of our time outside.   Maman is really glad she bought that huge umbrella for her deck last year.  It comes in really handy for shading in the afternoon.

We ended the weekend with a visit to High Park with the Deschamps family.  We had a wonderful visit and played on the swing and saw lots more animals at the small zoo there.  It was a great afternoon and a nice catch up session for the grown ups.

Have a good week everyone.  Here are some new pics.

Maman loves putting these pigtails in my hair now.
                                                           Just chillin with a popsicle.
